I established The Heron Group LLC in 1996, the culmination of over 15 years of experience as a corporate trainer, executive coach and organizational effectiveness consultant working with organizations ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to non-profits and government agencies.

This in-depth knowledge of human behavior and organizational dynamics, complemented by a gift for intuitive listening, thoughtful questioning and non-judgmental evaluation, ably equip me to assist you in achieving your life, career and business objectives.

My educational background includes a Masters Degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Bastyr University/Leadership Institute of Seattle and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. I am a Registered Counselor in the state of Washington.

Key Principles of My Practice

	It takes more than intellectual horsepower to be successful in life It’s not enough to be smart and work hard. Those are “price of admission” qualities that, while important, don’t necessarily guarantee success. Lasting success is built on an inner foundation of optimism, confidence and resilience, and is achieved by skillfully managing your interpersonal relationships at home and in the workplace.
	There are many paths to the same end You are unique – both as an individual and as a leader – and the route toward addressing the life and business challenges you face must be uniquely your own. I do not believe in “one size fits all” solutions.
	The responsibility for doing the work rests with you I do not tell you what to do or what to think. That’s your job. What I will do is listen and observe, ask probing questions, assess your strengths and growth opportunities, help you see things from a fresh perspective, deliver honest feedback and suggest alternative courses of action. Armed with that knowledge, I will support you in creating a vision and taking the necessary actions to achieve your desired life, career and organizational objectives.

About the Heron

I am often asked by friends and clients how I came to select the Heron as the name and symbol of my company. It was a very deliberate decision on my part and not simply an attempt to come up with a unique and interesting title.

The Heron has always held special meaning for me and over the years I have filled my home with their images in paintings and other art pieces. With their elegant silhouette as they majestically soar in flight, they impart a sense of quiet strength, integrity, grace, and wisdom. These are qualities I hold in high regard and I make a conscious effort to integrate them into my life and the work I do with my clients.
